The problem with profiling has never been that it does not work.

Yes, cops need to be held accountable for their actions.
By the same token, one should look at the situations that cops find themselves in everyday. It is no wonder that cops sometimes feel that a preemptive strike (a part of racial profiling) might be necessary to ward off further danger, but that doesn't make it right.
In essence, what I'm saying is that racial profiling is a problem, but the bigger problem is the crime that congregates in certain sections of town. I think all defense lawyers should have to go down to these crime-ridden areas and live there for about a month. That should be enough time for them to figure out if they really want the guy that they got off yesterday right next door to their house, their car, their children, and their personal safety. This is the problem: lawyers don't have to live with the offenders and abusers. That's how they can help somebody get off so that they can abuse somebody else.
The cops, the criminals and the victims are a 3-way situation. I truly think lawyers should get in there personally, too.
Hey! Let's make it a one big happy family.

If you're looking for illegal immigrants, you'll probably find more looking at Mexicans and other Central Americans than anybody else, and if you're looking for Arab terrorists, you'd probably do best to look at Arabs. But then this will be perceived as harassment by innocent Mexicans and Arabs. Profiling can amount to harassment of ethnic groups, and failing to profile can be political correctness carried to the point of idiocy, as it is in airports across the USA every day. It has to be used with common sense, but that seems to be in short supply.

It should be used. If your looking for a terrorist you don't waste your time on white little old ladies or Jewish men. Law enforcement need to use every tool. Cry babies wine when were attacked and wine when law enforcement tries to catch the bad guys using tools like racial profiling.

Hell no, if the shoe were on the other foot and caucasians were the ones being profiled they wouldn't like it so why should another group be targeted because of their ethnicity it bulls***

It's a crime.

As prohibited and stopped mean essentially the same, I like stopped as it denotes a total cessation of discrimination!

It shouldn't be done. All the criminal has to do is disguise himself as the opposite of what they are looking for. Any terrorist can do that and get away because they were looking for a stereotype.

If you were a terrorist and didn't want to get caught wouldn't you disguise yourself like a Jewish person or little old lady?
