I am doing a 1-page freewrite persuasive mine is against school uniforms.

if you had to pick three topics for being against school uniforms what would they be? P.S. you are not doing my homework just helping me with a few minor details.

one good one is it goes against the 1st amendment stating freedom for free exercise. can you help me and give me good examples. Be serious please ;)

i'm not against school uniforms....so this would be hard for me...i'll give you some reasons why I'm for them and maybe you could turn them around........

school uniforms put everyone on the same level (poor/well off)

when in school you can spot people that don't belong there because they are not in uniform

no problems with gangs or clicks

It does not help children deal with diversity if everyone dresses exactly the same. Some people have more money, some people wear different types of things- but everyone should be respected and treated right.

The way to teach that is not to simply take away the differences. What's next, paint everybody white?

AGAINST??
1. Financial investment: washing them, wear and tear -- kids out grow them.
2. Conforming --confining to a dress code -- taking away
individual idinity
3. Stigmatisim, It labels you from others when you walk home from school. A target for ridicul and kidnappers who like kids in uniform.

hope that helps the 3rd is really hard.

Expensive shoes, limited choices, finding the right size, that's all with number 1.
2. you already get.
3. Labels! Makes you look superior or inferior when going to or coming to school in public.

Some uniforms are quite costly.
Wearing the same thing everyday is unsanitary.
Does not allow for freedom of expression.
Does not allow individuality.
It's a form of brainwashing...everyone alike.

I don't agree with the above bc I think uniforms are great.

You can say that they are terrorising the students individuality and creativity. You can say that they cause shopping/going to the mall to be pointless. You can say that sometime students ahve somwhere to go immediatley after school and they can cause for students to get discomfort even after school. P.S. the first amendment is freedom of speech and that all people have the right to exsercise it.

Sorry, I think they are a great idea. They reduce the cost of clothing, reduce gang-related wear, and eliminate class issues related to brand names that take away from the focus at hand: EDUCATION.
