I am about 11 weeks pregnant and I have been getting pains in my lower abdomen. It sometimes feels like cramps. It doesnt last that long, but it is quite frequent. I have a drs. appointment tomorrow, but my question is has anyone else had cramps like this when they were around 11 weeks? I dont know if I should be scared and go to the hospital, or just wait to see my dr tomorrow. I thank anyone who replies.

A sharper pain can be an indication of round ligament pain, and this is normal to one side or the other along with cramping. All in relation to the uterus growing and stretching.
I had very bad round ligament pain during my first pregnancy. I'm 10 weeks into my fourth pregnancy. I had it a little bit with my second, but didn't have it with my third and so far no sign of it with my fourth baby. While it's scary and pretty painful, it's nothing to worry about. I found laying in bed on the opposite side helped a lot and something about icre cream too ;-)

Yes, I had this. I opened my pregnancy book I'd been reading to see if I could find anything on it and thankfully in the first paragraph it said that in the 11th week it's very common to get lower groin pain due to the ligaments stretching. This pain lasted a few days around week 11, maybe even most of the week, and then it came back again around week 15 but it's perfectly normal, so long as it is not intense pain and doesn't get worse or is accompanied by any bleeding. Just be sure to mention it to your dr of course.

Is it a cramp, or a sharp pain that comes and goes? I often had what they call round ligament pain. It would especially come when I would stand up from a sitting position. It's be like a stabbing pain in my lower abdomen, but would go away after a minute. I'd definitely ask the dr but I don't think its a big deal unless it's accompanied by bleeding.

Its called round ligament pains, more or less its your uterus stretching. Dont worry its very normal and may occur through out your entire pregnancy. I know it hurts because I have been pregnant 3 times and this is my 4th and its twins so it hurts a little more then just being pregnant with my singletons.

Calm..... It is PERFECTLY normal and in fact expected. They should have asked if you were experiencing that at your first visit. It means you are progressing normally. The uterus is growing and the ligaments, etc surrounding your uterus and pelvic region are expanding and changing. It is Soooo Very normal, albeit sometimes unnerving, I understand ( I am 9 weeks with my 2nd and having those same pains).
Some might actually be sharp at times... no need to stress out at all :)
Congratulations! :) and GOOD LUCK! :)

It's probablly just your uterus stretching...if your not spotting blood or anything don't worry about it till you see the doc...good luck with your baby.
