And you werent. Lets say you got into a bit of trouble, a knife was involved and somebody slashed you ( but not deep) on the arms and you didnt want to tell them the truth because they would freak out and not let you out of the house alone. What would you say? Dont say tell the truth because thats out of the question.

FIRST OF ALL, NEVER PLAY WITH KNIVES. You've got to make sure you weren't doing anything you shouldn't have done. If you were, you better stick to the truth, if not and you can't do anything better then, but I HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU TELL THE TRUTH:
Well, you've got to convince your parents that you'd never cut yourself. I got myself into a freak accident when I was reading a book and I have a scar on my wrist that made my parents think I was a cutter. The best thing to do, if telling the truth is out of the question, is to think of the next most logical answer. If it looks less like a slash, then say you fell. If it looks more like a slash, you could say you got into a kitchen accident, or that your pen was sticking out of your backpack and it scratched you when you picked it up. If any of your friends have a pet, you can blame it on the animal unless it's something like a snake or fish. Hope this helps!

Tell them that it was an accident and that it wasn't intentional. If they are your parents then they should trust you and know that it isn't something that you would do.
I'd promise to let them be worried the next time they see a cut like that on your arm. This way, they get to monitor you, but can't stifle you. If you're sure that this won't happen again, that is.
But if it is, then you need to tell SOMEONE, ANYONE. Maybe a counselor at school, but if it was a one time thing, I'd suggest a compromise.

ill tell you what i tell my sis the same thing when she messes up. if you tell the truth #1 you dont have to remember your lie, and your parents will respect you more, a lot more. Now im not saying you wont get into trouble, if you want to act like an adult, then you have to face the music like one. I know this isnt what you want to hear, but trust me. it sucks but it works.

Tell them the truth. If they still want to get you some help, then do it. Make them happy... and maybe help yourself at the same time.

Don't give your parents a panic attack. If they see it they will know whatever you say is not the truth. (if this is a real question - sorry to doubt but I just don't know anymore!).
What would you believe if you were a parent? - which I'm not by the way, just hate lies!

I don't know that's a hard situation... I would definetly not let it happen again, and in the mean time just try to build there trust in you.. tell them that they raised you to know better than to cut yourself.. it'll pass.. good luck!

tell them the truth they love you and if they think you are cutting yourself they will keep on at you so just tell them the truth. good luck xx
