How do I find what the (for the sake of argument) reaction time of the 60th percentile is? A grad student in my lab told me to do a frequency dist., but I think that gives me cumul. percentage--the actual obtained value. Do I do a frequency dist., and select the percentiles in statistics?

Analyze ---> Descriptive statistics ----> Frequencies ----> Select variable (reaction time) putting it in the second column. Click on Statistics. There is a percentiles box, put 60 in it then add. Click Continue the OK and you should get your score.

Watch out for those grad students, we can be pains in the butt.
