The president's salary has been $400,000 since January 1, 2001 (so yes, Bill Clinton got that salary for a while too). The president also has a $50,000 non-taxable expense allowance "to assist in defraying expenses relating to or resulting from the discharge of his official duties." This doesn't mean the allowance is used.
