Michigan is the biggest powerhouse in college football. They have the most national titles, the best winning percentage, the most conference titles than any other team in any conference, the most wins, the largest delta (points for minus points against) in college football history, the most undefeated seasons, the highest all-time strength of schedule rating, the most winning seasons, one of only two schools with a winning record against every 1-A conference, the only fight song in the hall of fame, the largest stadium in the nation, and are a part of the best rivalry in all of college sports. For those that do not put Michigan on there list, you have to not know football and tradition.

Alabama would have to be first and then Notre Dame. Bama has not done much in the past few years, but they do have the history and 12 national championships. Notre Dame has been overrated the past few years, but they have 11 national championships. USC has a pretty good history and 9 or 10 national championships. I'm not sure why people would choose Texas, Florida, or Auburn. Texas only has 3 championships, Florida 2, and Auburn I think had 1 in the 50's. There are other programs that are better than those three. I think that Oklahoma would be the best tradition in the Big 12. Bama in SEC. Ohio State in the Big 10, USC in the PAC 10, and Army or Notre Dame in independent.

Florida, USC, Texas, Auburn or LSU. will probably be the best. Now I know you ask where is Ohio St. and Michigan. They are not great teams. They have a week conference thats the only reason why they are ever ranked. The best teams will come from the SEC. Everyone under estimates the SEC, they have the toughest conference. So Florida, LSU, Auburn will be the best 3 from the SEC Arkansas might slide in there.

Based on what? Personally, I like both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I love their histories, the stories in them. Yes, Alabama has 12 national championships and Notre Dame has 13, but both have fallen on hard times as of late. Still, they will always have the legends. Paul "Bear" Bryant, Knute Rockne, Joe Namath, Joe Montana, the Four Horsemen...
Go IRISH!!
