Think of all the blind people--especially children--who will never see the light of day even with their eyes open. Now that's unfair.

that is because your eyes dont get any light, it is closed to see anything so your not seeing anything, even if it is day, but your eyelids arent that strong, sometimes if your eyes are closed and your looking at the sun you dont see pitchblack, you see kind of a dark red.

Try staring at the sun for a few hours to build up a super charge of daylight inside your eyelids.
