People have assumed from the pic that I'm a bloke, when I am definitely a female! (the name is a clue but i spose you can never be sure!) sometimes I don't mind, cos it's interesting to see the differences in the way answers/comments are given, but I am not a man & would like to know how to change the pic please.
PS: i have put the question in this category cos I might recognise some of your names & I know from B4 that most of you are a pretty good bunch.
Come on you Q&A experts. Easy instructions please!

Through a 360 account, unless you want to just change to another avatar. If this is the case just click onto your avatar and it will take you to the avatar options. Change it there..

click on it and then click on edit profile you have a choice of your 360 photo or to create and avatar tick the box of your preference ok hun

if you want to put a photo, you have to activate your 360 account.
otherwise, you can use an avatar (that cartoon face).
