Be polite and fast. Try to remember special requests like if someone doesn't want a certain thing. Always smile.

I worked at a country club for 4 years. It will mostly depend on the members, if they are baby boomers, it's more about good customer service and a great sense of humor. And memorize that menu every night or they will send you back to the kitchen repeatedly with questions. Never butt into their conversations, until they ask you questions and get to know you. If you get to work in the bar area, learn their games they play, bridge, pitch and cribbage. You never know when you will be called upon to help coach a new member when there is money on the table (seriously - I had to train an NBA star once). Or fill in for when they run to the restroom or take a call from their spouse.

If the crowd is younger, you will have more variety to work with as the younger crowd belongs to numerous clubs, the older crowd generally one or two. You may wait on famous people, watch your grin and don't ask for autographs, they are there for the service and food, not to be drooled over.

The younger people don't like to be called MR and MRS no matter what the club policy is.

Have fun, remember they are people too. However, they will never recognize you out of uniform... go figure.

Last thing, when setting the tables, remember on the large rounds to put the salt pepper and sugar within in reach. This will make sense when you start.

I hope this helps!
