Right now I have Medi-cal but I'm moving to Oregon @ the end of the month, people say that in oregon they have medicaid so where do I go to apply for medicaid? or can they just transfer it? Can you apply for it online?

also, does anyone know about how much an ultrasound costs? Medi-cal offers one free ultrasound so I was figuring I should take advantage of that while I still have it but then if they can just transfer it to medicaid I was wondering how much a regular (not 3d or 4d) would cost? I'm about 10 weeks pregnant and want to get as many pictures and everything as I can (this is my first if you cant tell lol)

Thanks for the help! <3

They dont transfer it, you need to contact the Department of Human Services in your new area and apply for medicaid. Medi-cal pays for more than one ultrasound but it needs to be requested by the doctor and approved by medi-cal. Medicaid is basically the same thing as medi-cal just different name and its actually easier to qualify for medi-cal. Ultrasound rates vary greatly, I would contact your doctors office and have them give you the price of an ultrasound if you really want to have another one but even that usually has to be ok'd by the doctor. There really is no reason to get another ultrasound right now (why pay the extra money whn you can just wait to get to Oregon? Make sure that you get a copy of all your medical records before you leave and as soon as you get to Oregon, get on Medicaid and then call an OB to make an appointment. Chances are they may do an ultrasound themselves.

You can apply for Medicaid at the health department and some OBGYN's will do the application for you (mine did) I had one ultrasound at 13 weeks which medicaid paid for and I have another sceduled at 21 weeks (april 13th) which is also covered by medicaid.
Medicaid is actually great insurance. I have had 4 prescriptions to date in this pregnancy and have only paid out $3.00 total

Yes, you can apply for medicaid online, heres the site...

If you need a different one, just search yahoo or google for Oregon medicaid... and as for the ultrasounds, they are free with medicaid. I have had medicaid my whole pregnancy, and for my last ultrasound, I got a really nice US tech nurse, and she did the 3D version for me! I didnt even have to ask her! So, good luck with your move, be safe, and God bless!

For petes sake its a freaking query ! I didnt locate it disrespectful in any respect so get your panties out your *** and improve up ! And to your suggestions some insurances WILL conceal the fee of THE 3-d/4D ULTRASOUND. could no longer be MEDI-CAL yet some DO. Now suck on that tax payer hahahahahaha !!!!!

you will have to get a residence then apply at the local welfare office. They should approve you quickly being pregnant.

Tell them you were covered in california.
