I'm trying to decide between these two parks on my limited trip to Disney World in orlando. Also, any recommendations?

It all depends on what you like more. If you do both Univ. Studios/Islands of Adventure, then US/IoA would win hands down. But if you were to do just one, then it depends.

MGM has RocknRoller coaster and Tower of Terror as its headliners. Outside of that, it's pretty ok. Universal Studios has Jaws/Mummy/Earthquake/Men in Black, Back to the Future, T2-3D, plus a whole lot more experiences. So it's your choice.

I've had a Universal pass for many years and enjoyed going back over and over again. For Disney, I spent the least amt of time at MGM vs the other parks.

Hope that helps!

I strongly recommend Disney MGM Studios over Universal any day! Universal has been aging over the years and has lost the glory it once had years ago, most of the rides are in need of updates and there are very few thrill rides. Disney MGM Studios has many more fun thrill rides and is doing better than ever! A new motor stunt attraction was recently opened that has drawn alot of attention to the park. I think you will enjoy Disney MGM studios more, checkout the website:

Huge difference. I worked at the Disney-MGM Studios and have visitied Universal. I've never been too thrilled with Universal, with the exception of their park, Islands of Adventure. Now that is an amazing theme park! Best roller coasters in town!
But the Disney Studios has a great Indiana Jones Stunt show, Rock N' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and a cool Motor car stunt show as well. Fantasmic is a wonderful night show and is not to be missed!

yes, i live here and i can tell you that universal is better. MGM studios is for old people. There are like 5 rides in MGM and universal has many many many. And MGM studios is like a big tour of the world. They just give you a tour and talk about the place. They have nice restaurants but they are really hard to get into. Universal Studios has the full package. Great rides, scenery, food, and everything!

I love all the Disney Parks, except for MGM...Epcot has some great rides and my 14 yr old actually had a better time there than at Disney...check out disney.com for a detailed description of the parks and attractions

MGM has one of the best roller coasters I've ever been on (Rockin Roller Coaster), plus the Muppets (which I love), and Fantasmic (which is ok) but besides that, not much else. When I went, pretty much all we did there was ride Rockin Roller Coaster several times, Tower of Terror several times, see the Muppets and Fantasmic. I'd suggest Universal, it has more rides, great food, and good shows. Have fun!
