My goodness...if you listen to a lot of girls today, they are so concerned about their grades, especially in English classes since they are required all 4 years of High School. Seriously though, when she gets married her husband isn't going to care if she got a good grade reading "The Great Gatsby" or "Beowulf". It isn't going to matter worth squat!! However, if she takes some cooking classes and learns how to prepare delicious meals, well...that is something useful she can use for the rest of her life. A woman that cooks well can get a lot of personal satisfaction from having her family compliment her as well as her friends. Plus, when the grandkids come along you know they will appreciate wonderful homemade cookies. Am I right here?? I think I am.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct, sir! Absolutely!
The things we need to learn are lessons to assist us in life. The day-to-day stuff that will help us not only survive, but be contributors to our family's life and survival. The old adage of "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and "there is no love so pure as the love of food" is very very true! And any female out there wants to win a mans heart needs to understand that men are very motivated by food and nourishment. A well fed man is a happy man. Kid you not! You can not survive financially by eating out all of the time, and there are occasions that call for some good home cooking, too. The family meets at the dinner table, the focus of the home, and the meals presented need to be wholesome, healthy, and made with love. Meal prep is one of the ways that a woman expresses her love, is it not? An extension of her contribution to the household?
Young ladies, try and squeeze in a couple of home-ec classes, if you can - cooking and sewing would be very beneficial. Careers come and go - but try to keep just the ONE marriage.

uh, no. this is the 21st century, women are not meant to just stay home and cook. yes being a good cook is a nice skill to have but i would rather be an educated person than a stupid one who can cook well.

Wow! you are a sexist pig. maybe men should learn how to cook too. I mean, you especially, considering your mentality toward women isnt exactly hepling you find your dream woman. Do you not care if your future wife can carry on an intellectual conversation? or are you one of those my woman wont speak unless spoken to types? that wouldnt suprise me. I can cook, but being able to socialize is much more improtant to me. think for youself, jerk-off!

Sandstorm, you should be on your own radio show. You are way better than Rush. Actually that is what I asked my first wife, can she cook? My second wife I asked if she could sew a button on my shirt. My third wife I asked how soon can she get a job. My forth wife....

It's just as important for guys to learn to cook so they can do it too. That way when your wife boots your sexist @$$ out you can still eat.

Cooking classes will certainly be more useful for everybody to take instead of the "English" classes they force you to take. "English" classes just teach literature and literature is understanding written text how somebody else understands it.

Most certainly not..cooking and religion should be taught at home..one can see that as education becomes less challenging we get closer to being Neanderthals..look at our leaders who slid through college..
