That time should be figured out about how long the harrasing went on and what type of harrasing was caused. i.e.
Student harrases another student because of there style of clothing to the point (about 10 days) people don't respect that person anymore=
5 school day suspension
Student sexaul harrases another student to the point they don't want to come to school anymore=
expelled from that district.
All depends....

I've always thought that suspension was inadvertently rewarding the offender. I knew lots of kids in high school that were suspended and thought "Alright! Now I get another three days off from school!" It was more of a reward than a deterrent.
Perhaps punishment for those who bully and harass should be more humiliating? Make them scrub gum off the campus sidewalk or clean the school's bathrooms. To maximize the effect you could videotape them and broadcast the offenders on a weekly, closed circuit TV show.

good luck im kinda going thru the same thing with my kids , my youngest was jumped by three girls, now these girls parents are saying my girls are bullies the whole crazy part is my kids never hit this other child first!, the girls only got 1 day and still haress my girls writing stuff on the walls and etc, i think if they dont know how to act in school they should be kicked out for that term!!! thats just me thou

1 week.....if it keeps on going keep going keep adding up a weeks. like 1 week then 2 weeks and so on.
