and not be able to keep your hands off each other for months and a relationship never develop. If you are having so much fun with someone and they totally turn you on and vice versa isn't that a good start to a relationship. I am just wondering if too much physical attraction in the beginning will lead to a purely physical relationship rather than a long term one. We cannot keep our hands off each other but do go out fo dinner and go boating and have mutual friends so it isn't just physical. Is this a good thing when working towards a long term relationship or not?

What you are feeling is chemical attraction and lust. Love is developed over time and is much deeper than physical intimacy and good times. When a relationship starts out physical, lust is often mistaken for love. I've read that the "extreme attraction" in those types of relationships typically wears off within a couple of years.

It sounds like you're off to a rollicking good start. Your best bet is to not have any expectations of your partner and let things (other than the physical aspect, obviously) develop naturally. Even now, your relationship is more than just physical. Without expectations, those aspects are bound to grow and may eventually become equal in importance. Good luck.

This is just the normal first phase in a relationship. Once this phase settles down - can last up to 18 months - then one of two things will happen. Either you will discover that you don't have that much in common, it was all phsyical and go your own ways, or your relationship will develop into something more like love and you will realise that you are happy to be together without bonking every five minutes.

Yes you sure can be but be careful as it may turn out to be a disaster if it turns out to be the wrong person for you and your life down the road. Also be careful of STD's. You also want to make sure that it is not all just physical and sexual. If there is no love or emotions or commitment involved then it may not really be worth it down the road either. Date and get to know each other outside of just sex. Basically you need to have much more in common then just sex.
