I found and replaced the one on the passenger's side with no problem, but I am having a diffucult time just finding the one on the driver's side of the engine

i have a 94 s-10. the dr side knock sensor is between the 2 rearmost spark plugs on the dr side. these are cyls #3and 5. dunno if your veh is the same. if it's not there, look at the bottom of the block just above the oil pan along the left (dr) side.

I don't think there are two of these sensors. The one on the pass. or right side of the motor is just before the starter in the coolant drain hole in the bottom of the block before the crossmember. If you are having the same problem with a code and you think there is another sensor, I would suggest looking at the connector or the one you just replaced. It is a crappy design and it might look good, but the male part of the connector seems to bend or shrink and then it will lose connection to the female part of the sensor. Good luck.

There is usually only one knock sensor per vehicle
