the question is how you wish to connect them. assume that you have a lan running where you are at, each laptop can have a printer connected to it, via usb cable, and then each laptop can share over the network the printer on the other laptop, by creating a print share. or you can get a network interface box that will connect to the lan either wired or wirelessly and the printer and the the two laptops can see the printers as network objects and connect via ip address or via network name. the key is making sure you have the drivers for the printers, in case one, each laptop will send the right drivers to the other laptop, in case two each laptop will have to have access to the drivers from some other source. the third possiblity is to have the printers on the network, have a laptop network connected to each, and then each other laptop shares the printers from the first laptop or pc and gets the drivers that way.

If you can, set up a secure local network using a wireless hub. But it depends on what make computer you have. With Macintosh computers, it's relatively easy. I have two new Macintosh desktops and an older iBook Mac laptop at 3 locations in my house (one downstairs, and two in separate home offices, upstairs) all connected to each other and to the same internet account (with multiple addresses) using a plug-in Apple Airport wireless hub about the size of a cigarette pack. It took an hour or so for a techie from the dealer to set it up (I could have done it, but not as quickly) and to make the network password-secure with an encrypted code.

You will need to connect the printer to one of the laptops. You will also need to create a network with the laptops. On the laptop where the printer is physically connect, you will be able to share it to your network. Then on the other laptops, you will connect to it through the 1st laptop
