my docs have told me that my neck looks a bit larger than normal but has yet done anything about it. I've scheduled for an xray but I want to have an idea of what it could be. When you look at it, you see that it bulging out a bit (no not an adam's apple but its just larger) and when I bend my head back, you actually see the shape of it, kinda like an upside down triangluar shape. Some times I feel like something is blockin my throat, making it uneasy to breathe, but not too bad. Any ideas?

Sounds like a thyroid goiter. Usually they will do a thyroid ultrasound to confirm a goiter and then a thyroid uptake scan (nuclear medicine) which will tell how your thyroid is functioning. If it's too high or too low they may start you on a medicine to control it. Thyroid problems are not something to fool around with. It can cause you irreversible problems if left untreated for a prolonged amount of time. But, the good news is they are usually easy and painless to treat
"Hypo" or "low" thyroidism-
Easy fatigue, exhaustion
Poor tolerance to cold temperatures
Constipation
Carpal tunnel syndrome (pain at the wrists and numbness of the hands)
Later symptoms :
Poor appetite
Weight increase
Dry skin
Hair falls out
Intellectual ability worsens
Deeper, hoarse voice
Puffiness around the eyes

"Hyper" or high thyroidism:
Insomnia
Hand tremors
Nervousness
Feeling excessively hot in normal or cold temperatures
Frequent bowel movements
Losing weight despite normal or increased appetite
Excessive sweating
Menstrual period becomes scant, or ceases altogether
Joint pains
Difficulty concentrating
Eyes seem to be enlarging- this looks horrible!

it sounds like a thyroid problem.... if it is so, an x-ray will not reveal the problem. You will need thyroid tests instead.
