well.

dna is passed on through the genes and traits that are passed on to you from your parents.

the traits and characteristics that you have, will be passed on to your child whether they are from you, yourself, or your child because it all depends on the way the dna arranges itself with the alleles.

You got your DNA from your parents - half from your mother and half from your father. So you have 23 chromosomes from Mom and 23 from Dad. You gave 23 chromosomes to your baby. So you didn't give your baby a copy of every chromosome you got from your parents, but you gave your baby copies of some of the ones you got from each parent.

I will give you a very "simple" example and hope it makes sense.
A female is genetically XX and a male is genetically XY. Say your parents are represented by XmomXmom and XdadYdad. You get one chromosome from your mom and one from your dad. So your genetic makeup is XmomXdad if you are female or XmomYdad if you are male. Your baby will then get one chromosome from you - which you originally got from your parents.

answer may be D. the wear to "your father's lungs" is harm he gained for the time of his lifetime. Such gained characteristics at the instant are not surpassed down in the process the genes, in the different case mothers with lacking arms/feet etc. might provide beginning to babies with lacking feet/ arms. this thought replaced into presented by potential of LeMarc and shown incorrect by potential of Darwin/Wallace.

sperm(DAD)=23 chromosomes
egg(MOM)=23 chromosomes

you=46chromosomes

Genetic variation also occurs inside of you (during Meiosis) not just b/c of the math of having kids.

You are a 'combination' of your mother's DNA and your father's DNA. Your 'baby' is a combination of your DNA and his other parent's DNA ... so since yours is a 'combination' of theirs, his is 'half' of that 'combination' in combination with his other parent's DNA.
