We have the highest gas prices in the country, barring (maybe) California. What gives?

You seem to be an average "Yellow" state. Oregon being more orange and California being red. But there are some green states, the greenest being Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. It could be related to taxes. Most of the southern states are both cheaper and have lower taxes, but the 3 cheapest states don't have the cheapest taxes.

Delivery rates (from refineries, not the Alaskan oil pipeline), taxation rates, and various other situations such as supplier prices and even the potential of Canadian visitors who fill gigantic RV tanks for a reserve supply at a remarkably lower price.

It's too high because big oil can command a higher price there, citing propaganda such as "It's further away from the oil refineries, so it costs more" or "Refineries and distribution centers are limited for that state, so getting oil to WA costs more". It's all a load of bullshit, and we can thank Bush and his oil buddies for it.

your getting your gas from alaska thats what makes it that much more expensive

I would say that it is because of delivery charges that it is so high.
