So, heres the situation. We have this house that has too much junk. There is stuff here that is more than 20 years old that we do not use. Heres the problem, we just found out that we are moving in June! A little over a year ago a car hit out house & that's why we are moving. We can't fix the house, so we are just gonna have it tore down. I want to keep my room organized, so that when it comes time to pack, I won't forget anything. My mom said that shes going to leave the junk inside the house, but theres a problem there too, how will we know if there is something we really need. I have junk and important things all mixed up in my room and I'm very very unorganized. How can i learn to be organized?? Also, what can I do with my junk other than just leaving it?? Thanks

I suppose I see some logic to just leaving your junk there if the house will be leveled and carted away. But it doesn't sound like you have enough room to segregate the junk from useful items.

Providing your city/town doesn't charge extra for bulk trash, you should clear out half a room a week or whatever chunk of space makes sense for the number of rooms you have. Plan to have the junk gone by the end of April, latest. This way you can pack useful, but not required immediately items in May.

Label or color code the boxes for what room they came from and perhaps how urgently they are needed. For instance silverware, glasses and dishes would be quickly needed. But you can be smart, pack all but whatever number of settings you need for that last month. They don't have to be together. WInter clothes can be packed up, stuff like that.
