Practical experience tells me that too many people DON'T know how to write English...
They may be highly educated in their fields of study, but a lot of really intelligent people are horrible writers. And I'm just talking about native speakers.
Nowadays we have SpellCheck, which unfortunately is killing our ability to write because all our mistakes get corrected without any work. Grammar mistakes are becoming more and more prevalent too. Especially in today's IM culture. Teachers nationwide are complaining about the amount of IM-speak that's creeping into papers...
So the truth is, we need to study English even more nowadays.

You are in Yahoo Answers
you spend at least SOME time in here
you have to (at least from time to time) Read some of the posts in this place !! And, then you ask a question like THIS !!
Don't take the fact (and who knows about that in your case) that you know how--- that all the others do too !! In this place alone, it is displayed very graphically by the second just how absolutely atrocious the English language is abused , misused and mangled and THIS quite regularly by people who are either TAKING the subject in school AS WE SPEAK--- OR-- have taken it for several years AND GRADUATED !!!!!!

Speaking as an honors literature graduate, I realize that I am - in a unique way - prejudiced.
You take English for a number of reasons.
Ever heard "Americans" ranting lately about immigrants needing to "learn the language?" Most domestically born citizens don't have very good language skills, I'm afraid.
Learn the language.
Learn to write; learn how to express yourself effectively.
You take English class to be exposed to great writers and great thinkers.
In general, Americans' reading habits are not all that good.
Europeans probably read heavier and meatier books than we do.

You weaken the nation every time you breathe. The phrasing of your question proves that you do need remedial English. "If we already know how to speak and write in english?" is not a sentence. English is also capitalized dumbass!
