I would have never even gone over there to begin with but if I had inherited it I would do the following:

1) Talk with the countries in the Middle east to see what could be done. See what common ground there is between all sides. Assure them we are not conquers but there to keep the peace.

2) I would give a time table when the US was going to pull out. When a nation has foreign occupation, this tends to create anger and resentment, no matter how hard you try to help. This would reassure that I intend to leave without leaving troops at all. Look at some of the other nations that still have US troops in them even after WWII and the Korean War.

3) Working with members of all sides, I would say: Here is your money to rebuild. If you want to use it to kill each other other, so be it. But we are offering a better way. And show the better way.

This I feel is a lot better than what is happening right now. As myself as the president, it would be my job to show also that the previous president was not correct in attacking this nation without approval of the nations in the area. You are therefore there now to fix the damage and get out. And perhaps learn a lesson in the meantime.

I'd begin a phased withdrawal of troops. I think we won when we deposed Saddam and destroyed the weapons he had. We cannot bring peace to the Shiites and the Sunnis, because they have a religious dispute over who is the heir to Mohammad. We can't solve that problem. We can't make them accept each other. They are each taught to kill those who disagree with them. I worry that our borders are unprotected. I can drive back and forth into Mexico without even going through checkpoints (I live in the Southwest). We need protection at home. While we have been trying to solve the Iraqi dispute, our porous borders have put us in more danger. I'd bring them home and do so quickly. Regardless of how long we stay, the fight will continue in Iraq whenever we come home. How many years ago did President Bush say "mission accomplished'? He was right. He should have listened to his own words.

people who connect the army are often people from undesirable economic backgrounds. they frequently basically have a severe college commencement. wealthy people do not connect the army so as because of fact of this the Bush daughters at the instant are not scuffling with in Iraq. it ought to could desire to with the actuality that they don't choose to flow.

I would take the military and have them guard all the oil fields.
I would allow the Iraqis to keep killing themselves.
i would raise the gasoline prices to $8.00 a gal US dollars
I would let the military start up a black market with all the supplies headed to Iraq, that would be their bonus.
I would block all media outlets and pay the military contractors to wright all favorable reports.
I would hirer Iraqis to make trouble on the Israel border to shift the focus.
Tax the American working people and take away all public assistance in the name of the war on terror, raise the gas prices in America to $5.00 a gal. to keep them all inline and their focus on feeding themselves.
Thats just a start

I would end it. I would not be re-elected because the public would not be happy with the number of civilian deaths that would occur, but at this stage that is the only way to end it and just leaving is not an option.

Apologize for starting it. Increase aid to the Iraqis and phase out withdrawal with an immediate removal of some troops as a demonstration of intent.

first i would bring all of our troops home. We went over there to get Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and terrorist, ok we did that, yea there maybe some more terrorist over there but while our troops are over there the terrorist can come over here. Bush is wanting to keep sending more and more troops, why because we have very few over there because they are all dying, its like he is sending more over there to die.

I'd cater to the gays by making it mandatory for any gay person to spend 3 years in the miltary and send them all to Iraq and Afganistan. They'll be really happy that their right to serve in the military is being respected.

I would stay at war until the terrorists were defeated and tell our soft nation to support the troops. They need support rather than whining Americans not appreciating what they're doing for us.

Ignore congress and send 200,000 troops and take away everyones weapons until the government was set up to take care of itself and then go next door to Iran and do the same thing.
