I had to reformat my hard drive and install Windows XP all over again, but now when it boots up, it waits with a message boot from CD, but then it boots from the hard drive anyway. Is there a way to eliminate this problem?

Go to your BIOS boot options & place your C drive as first boot device.

Yes, push the del key or F2 and change the cmos boot options to ide0 (hardrive 0) and disable the other two or three boot options.
Push F10 and say yes at save to cmos prompt
