Some catholic scholars were troubled with the notion that their loving, kind god would condemn innocents like unbaptised children who died in infancy to hellfire, or people in distant lands who had never heard of xtianity. So they came up with the concept of limbo, a place where souls were spared the tortures of hell, but were denied the glories of heaven. A sort of after-life waiting room, where the souls of the unchristian dead could wait, together with those xitians not good enough for one nor bad enough for the other. They postulated that souls could make it from limbo to heaven if enough prayers were said for them, or after enough time had passed.
But recently the Vatican has pronounced that the idea of limbo is not official doctrine, so it does not exist.
So hellfire it is for all those unbaptised infant deaths! Sizzle Sizzle!

I believe limbo is the place between alive and dead. They haven't yet crossed over but they are no longer living. Usually the spirit has unfinished business on earth or just doesn't know where to go.

Limbo to me means not knowing which way to go.. Or resisting going the way i know i should.
