Consider the following:
1.) The number of stars in the universe
2.) The number of stars studied to date that have orbiting planets (this means that even if we haven't studied a given star, the odds of it having a planet are roughly the same as the percentage of stars having planets that we have studied)
Even taking these two factors into account, its statistically so improbable that there is not life elsewhere in the universe that its not worth considering the posibility from an empirical standpoint. The better scientific method would be to assume there is life as the statistics are so stacked in favor of their being other life.
On the other hand, this says nothing about intelligent life, or intelligent life's willingness or ability to communicate with us. It furthermore says nothing about the our imperfect understanding of scientific limits on how communication might happen assuming other life IS in fact intelligent enough and willing to communicate with us in the first place.
To assume we haven't had confirmed, documented, widespread knowledge of extra terrestrial contact to mean that there is no extra terrestrial life is the epitome of human hubris.

I believe that life exists on other planets, if not in this solar system other than Earth. However, I think in order for there to be complex life (multi-cellular organisms), there must be another planet like Earth with necessary life-supporting features like an adequate atmosphere, water, nitrogen, carbon-dioxide, and an active tectonic condition. For all we know, there could be aquatic life under the ice sheets on Europa or microscopic bacterium living on Io. There's a lot of exploration to be done in our own solar system, so I have no doubt that this may be possible.
If anyone uses the Bible to defend their views on extra terrestrial organisms, I may shoot someone. The Bible is the oldest known novel created by man. It was created by people who still thought the sun revolved around Earth. I'm going to get upset if people use it to say that there cannot be other life than Earth's. If they do use the Bible, they need to be crapping THOROUGHNESS out their eyes because I can't tolerate it when someone uses the passage "and then on the 2nd night, God created Earth and then life" because that's a really ignorant strict interpretation of the Bible. Just because "He" created life on Earth doesn't mean "He" didn't create life on other planets!!!
I can't wait until we find the first micro organisms on Mars or something. Because, once again, science will "prove" religion wrong. (In this case, religion isn't exactly wrong, just the people who interpret it.)

There is absolutely no evidence yet that life of any kind exists beyond our atmosphere.
Any idea that there is life out there, based usually on the oft quoted number of countless stars in the universe, is just supposition, and has no basis in science.
To believe in extra-terrestrials without any evidence at all, comes down to the same thing as religion and God.
Blind belief and science are poles apart.
This is a science forum and we see too much uninformed opinion on here.

Yes, but not around Earth. I believe this because the odds are in favor of extra-terrestrial life. It's a big universe.

Out of the billions of stars, thousands of universes, and the multitude of other planets, I think it would be rather egotistical and narrow minded to think we are the only one with intelligent life on it.
It would be nice to think that these extra terrestrials would be further along in evolution, kinder, more compassionate, and less religious than many of the humans here on Earth.

They are mathematically/statistically models that show life exists else where. They are alot explanations on how life began on Earth at most are valid. Considering the size of the vast size of the universe and the variety of ways life can start, it is very probable that life in some form exists else where.

I believe in the possibility, and I believe people are seeing something, but who knows. I personally hope we are not alone in the universe because that would just suck and be boring. Somewhere there is life out there, whether or not they are intelligent is a different story because intelligence is not always needed for survival, or what we call human higher intelligence.

Yes i truly strongly believe that aliens do exist because of all the sightings, experiences and crop circles which brings me on to my next point. I believe that crop circles are messages from the aliens that we will then later use our 10% of our brain that we do not currently use to work out what the messages mean

There has to be some other creature out there. We can't be the only planet to host living things in this big universe. Even if they are so far away we never find them, I don't think we're alone. Whoa, this is getting deep...

Yes. There is a park at the back of my house. Once in awhile a space ship lands there. I go out and talk to the creatures. They walk around the neighborhood at night looking around ( they can see through the walls ). They are very inquisitive and have always been nice to me.
