The Crucible provides many inherent characteristics that closely relate to McCarthyism and the Red Scare, in that they both show fear, greed, and wrath.

greed because one of the characters...putnam i believe, kept accusing ppl so he could take their land. for example in the later part of the book he accuses John Proctor of being a witch, and also accuses him of stealing his land....etc...

Well, I think that you should explain what the Red Scare and McCarthyism are as well as give a brief overview of the novel.

This can be done quickly in your opening paragraph and done in more detail throughout the paper.

But start with a paragraph explaining what McCarthyism is and the Red Scare, state your thesis and you would have a strong opening paragraph.

Good luck!

I think it sounds good overall, I'm not sure where the greed comes in, but I'm sure the argument could be made. Also, using the word 'inherent' seems dubious.
