Not sure to get a f-150 or Silverado 1500. I want it to last so not sure what to pick? I like them both.

I saw you test drive them first, then move on from there.

I like the F-150 overall. The interior materials are way above anything else anyone has to offer. It's also the quietest pickup, bar-none. Also the most capable overall with a fully boxed frame...unlike the new Tundra which has a open "C" Channel frame (verywhimpy). There's a reason why the F-150 sells over 800K on a yearly basis, and IS the best selling truck worldwide year after year.

I'm including a link that goes on to compare ALL trucks, it's very informative. "Truth About Trucks"

I also like the Silverado as well, it was a much needed improvement since they had the longest running, and the interiors are much improved from the previous generation. My only grip is the PistonSlap issue which haunts some of the engines, and the OHV designed engines are not as smooth sounding as OHC's.

But otherwise these are the only 2 I would look at and recommend.

Hope this helps...

F-150 is good, but breaks down a little more than the Silverado. However the Silverado may be a little more expensive for tune ups.

Dont go DODGE they suck I spent over 20 grand on mine and I was sick of it and gave it away.

Now what you need to think of is what are you using this truck for. I want the F-250 and my husband wants the Cummons Diesel. I like the F-250 cause I can haul my horses around as well as toys to play with in the mudd and muck or even water toys as well. If you want a truck to handle large loads later on down the road in life then get the F-350 or Diesel. Oh and you may want a Crew Cab to hold your friends in the back compy.

DO NOT buy a Chevy!!!!! [LOL]

go with the ford f 150- you'll save gas, less problems, much more passenger room in the back and it has a much nicer design =)

I would say an F-150. My dad has had two with over 250,000 miles each.

I think most people here did not understand your question, you said you wanted it to LAST so that means you should be looking at Toyota Tundra, which by the way is made in the US.

If you want it to last then I wouldn't get a Ford. Go for a Chevy.
