No. Compound that with that fact that at this point, I can't even envision a " candidate of my choice! "

No, it would make me unhappier. When the politician of my choice loses out, I can feel happier because of righteous indignation (the 'what if' factor), but when a supported politician comes to power, and is then shackled by all the chains of politics and never does anything he/she promised, that would just make me more depressed and pessimistic about life.

I don't know if a politician of my choice in power would make me happier but I do know that a politician of my choice (Bush) not being in power would make me happier and sleep better. Does that count?

wow, I think if Arnold Schwarzaneger became prime minister of England I´d be happier, just becasue Live in Spain now, and I think I´d laugh my ar*e off everyday at the sheer madness of it, that´s not to say he might not do as good a or better "job" of it than the current batch of UK Politicians.
if i had to chose a politician, for Spain, I think my life would be happier if Howard Marks (that little known politician) became prime minister, reasons should be obvious.

Yes. If Barrack Obama was President, it would make me feel good that people would stop dying from the war, that people would be happier when he legalizes gay marriages, that people would be dying less and stop protesting when he opposes the death penalty, that the world would be in less danger when he does something about global warming or ratifies the Kyoto Protocol, etc, etc ... I could go on for a very long time. :)

No, I don't trust any politician. The only choice is whoever you perceive as the better of two evils.

Yes the polititian would have heard my concerns and happiness's.
Also the politician would have heard , like minded people.
Unfortunately the polititian has to hear??,all of the constituents and in a democracy, like it or not.
The majority rule(but keep on asking)I do(dont get me too far)but it is our right.
Someone like you envisage might hear us.
