I did not name all the characters because i could not be bothered writing everyone's names....think about all that i would have to write...Also i am 25 and have been reading the books since i was 9 ....i have seen all three movies in excess of 30 times each.....i could probably write the script from the top of my head...and cheers for the people that told me about Orlando Bloom (Legolas) when his eyes suddenly change to brown....I have never noticed that.

You know, I noticed the same thing the last time I watched that trilogy. It seemed almost every time they did a close-up of a character, their eyes were blue. The first time I noticed that was at a scene where a bright light was on Frodo's face. His skin was so white and his eyes were the most beautiful blue I had ever seen. There was also the scene in Two Towers where Gandalf was relating his story from Moria to the "traveling trio" (Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas). They showed the scene where it was spiraling out of his eye and everything else was white. His eyes were quite blue there.

It just happens that the people chosen for the characters have blue eyes, with the exception of Orlando Bloom, but that was because his character was described as having blue eyes.

What about the goblins and orcs? They have bright yellow eyes, Elrond has dark eyes too, i think there isn't that much diffrence, most of the elves have bright eyes because they are imortal its like the light of their eternal life is reflected in their eyes eg Legolas.
And the movie well your not a lotr fan if you dont know their names! Fellowship of the ring, the two towers and the return of the king

Legolas has brown eyes when we meet him and Gandalf has different colors of eyes throughout the movie.

well in one scene legolas's eyes are brown (LOTR:ROTK)! look out for it in the extended edition where they run out of the evil mountains and then the ghosts come out!

LOTR rules!!

gimli is a dwarf, they're earthy colours, reds/oranges/brown!! where elves are more grassy colours and hobbits are just cute! hehahehahe and people look like people do!
