For this type of truck and all GM vehicles, it's the 8th digit on the VIN which in your case will be a K. That is a 350 cid. If it has a different code, it used to have or still does have a different type of motor. Some were produced with 305, but not many.

8th digit of VIN. If it's K, you have a TBI 350. If it's H, it's a TBI 305. If it's Z, it's a TBI 4.3 liter v6. If it's N(which it won't be because your truck is a half ton) it's a 454.

If you still don't know, you can try lifting the hood... most are listed on the engine it's self. It also helps to know if it's the original motor/OEM or if it's not the original...
