Ok I can see youve never really got your heart broken.When someone becomes numb they exhausted all of themselves emotionally.This is a bad thing. It can and will change a person forever.So essentially what hes saying,he's telling a girl I cant deal with you anymore because you cause me too much pain keeping you around. You WILL understand one day. I only hope your heart doesnt incinerate in the process.

It is talking about being so mixed up and having so many things pulling you in different directions that your emotions become numb and you don't really know how you feel towards things anymore. It is also about being someone you aren't and trying to develop that sense of self worth and having a need to find yourself.
