I would have wished he joined Barcelona. He has skill, flair and a lot of creativity with slick passes. I hope he will transfer to the more lucrative stadiums to the west of Bucharest.

The first thing you might notice when watching the video clip of Elton below is that he is vertically challenged. The Brazilian attacking midfielder is listed as being 1.56 meters (5′1″) tall and that is with the Afro. Even though he is diminutive in stature, you’ll also see from the clip that the dude appears to have some serious skill.

The 20-year-old joined Brazilian power Corinthians in the 2004-05 season, playing in 29 games while his club won the league championship. Last year he was loaned Sao Caetano where he also played in 29 matches and was coached by legendary Brazil goalkeeper Emerson Leao.

Elton was back at Corinthians for the start of this season but in the past couple of days he was transferred to the Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest. Known for his speed and his on the ball technique, it will be interesting to see how a player of his stature does in a European league that has its share of physical play.

I think it was a good deal for everyone involved. If I am not mistaken, Steaua paid $800k, that is a low price for a talented player like Elton. Corinthians is not getting much from the MSI deal, so they can definitively use the money.
