When we get serious about putting a stop to the slaughter. Some countries have a ZERO tolerance for drunk driving....it's called capital punishment. It works very well, and they don't have to use that punishment very often because everyone knows that's what they can expect for their crime.

Maybe it would help if the establishments serving the alcohol would actually be held partially responsible for it. So when they see someone is getting too drunk they call a cab or someone to come get that person. If the law actually considered it murder and punished them as such it would help. Personally I think we have gotten to easy on prisoners with all the human rights protecting them from inhumane acts, time in the pen is easy street. If they had to get out and break rocks like the old days and do physical work it might help.

partiotpowermedia claims its manslaughter, not murder. Actually if DWI/DUI is considered a felony, it would be murder. Most US jurisdictions have a 'felony murder rule'. That means, if someone commits a felony and a death results, its murder, even if there was no intent to cause death. As far as I'm concerned, DWI/DUI should carry the same penalty as attempted murder.

When our judicial systems grow some cahoonies and our DA's stop making ridiculous deals with ALL!!! Criminals, and start giving the same sentences for this type of crime and murder as if some used a gun or sold drugs to a kid that ended up dead.

Dead is dead.

They didn't kill that person on purpose, it was an accident.
Manslaughter not murder.
Many drunk drivers are not criminals but unstable people in need of help. Hospital would be better for them than prison.

I know a lot of people are not going to like reading this. But in reality it isn't murder. It is manslaughter. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think we should do easy on drunk drivers. I'm just pointing out that its not murder.
