Sounds normal to me

The baby gains about 1 pound a week in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy. You are ONLY 25 weeks. To me he is going to be at least 7lbs if not a little more

25 pounds is also a pretty good amount for 25 weeks. It seems to be a little bit over what you should weigh so I do not see how he could be premature. Everything sounds ok. I would just watch the weight a little. I gained 30lbs my entire pregnancy and they said that was about average. I was also underweight and shorter than you

I wouldnt worry. Sounds like your little boy is fine.

Yes, that's actually a really good weight for only 25 weeks. Baby's don't put on most of their "weight" until the later weeks. The doctors recommend you don't put on much more than 20 to 25 lbs the entire pregnancy, but I always gained about 40 and didn't have much trouble losing it. It's just that the more excess weight you gain, the harder it is to get it off afterwards. You shouldn't diet though, just don't use the pregnancy as an excuse to eat anything you want. Eat as healthy as you can, and cut back on refined sugars, which aren't good for either of you.

There is no way for anyone to know if your son is going to be premature. Your doctor would have the best idea. As long as your not having labor pains or your water hasn't broke, there is no reason to think you would go into premature labor. Even if you did, your son would have a good chance of surviving now. The doctors are having much more sucess at saving premature babies as small as a a little over a pound now!

The most important thing you can do is get good prenatal care, good vitamins, etc. No smoking and no drinking. Your baby should be fine.

There is a pregnancy calculator that tells you what to expect week by week of your pregnancy at www.webmd.com if you want to try that. I think it's pretty neat.

The farther along you are in the pregnancy the more weight you will gain.( I am 5 months pregnant and my baby only weighs 9 ounces. It's a little girl. Yay!!!!!!!) Anyways, everything is going to be fine as long as you go to the doctor regularly and let them know everything that goes on. They will tell you if something is wrong and they will help you. Don't stress yourself out too much cause that's the last thing you need. Good Luck to you and your son. I hope everything works out.

When i was 33 weeks they estimated that my son weighed 3lbs & 14 oz.
I ended up having him at 35 weeks and he weighed 4lbs 15.6oz and was 17 inches long at birth. He was healthy though.
I only gained 10 pounds during my entire pregnancy with him.

That sounds right though about the weight.
You have 15 weeks to go.

how would your weight or his have any bearing on premature labor?

Fetus' put on most of their weight in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy...so for him to be 2 pounds now...sounds fine...you still have 15 weeks.

Talk to your OBGYN about these concerns. He/She is most qualified to discuss your medical condition.

Good Luck and COngrats

you are right on track. Keep eating healthy and gets lots of rest. Drink a lot of water and contact your doctor if you start having contractions.

But it sounds as things are going well. Good luck!

that is a perfectly normal weight for him to be right now. I am 27 weeks pregnant and my son i just 2lbs and 4oz. so you seem to be on schedule.

What does your Dr. say???? he/she should be able to tell you that your son is growing completely on key as he should be.

Congrats to you
