I want to know how to create a GIF image with more than 256 colors. DON'T SAY YOU CAN'T. You can, like the one shown when you first log in to Yahoo Mail Beta. It has mor ethan 256 colors.
Is there special software you have to buy, or do you have to "inject" special code or something? Please tell me exactly how to do it. (It must be free.)

You can't use more than 256 per frame. You can use a much larger palette to create the image but only 256 per frame.

K I wont tell you that! I suppose you counted all the colors? You just go on believing you can until you get sick of it! You CAN however make it an animated gif and use a different 256 color palette for each frame!

Yes, you can have more than 256 colors, but the size of the gif file increase dramatically...
