cilia and flagella
Cilia usuallly occor in large numbers on the cell surface. Flagella are usually limited to one or two per cell. They are longer and have a undulating mothion that generates force in teh sam edirection as the flagellum's axis. Cilia work more like oars with alternating power and recovery strokes generating force in a direction perpindicular to the cilium's axis.
