I disagree with some of the above. For example , pre-revolution France was a monarchy.
aristocracy would be governement by the nobles - very difficult to find an example for that.I think republican Rome (before there were roman emperors, Rome was a republic ruled by the senate (which consisted of patricians).
autocracy - Louis XIV. in France for example (monarchy is a form of autocracy)
theocracy - (government has religious legitimation) like mentioned above, Iran and Vatican
democracy - modern democracies, but (in my opinion) not Rome and antique Greece (these states tolerated slavery, and only male citizens were allowed to vote, not what I would call a democracy, rather a republic)

Aristocracy: Hmm... Hard to say if this an actual form of government; ruled by upper classes?? I guess we all are!
Autocracy:Absolute rule. Not too many of these left. Saddam Hussein of Iraq had one.
Theocracy: Ruled by the "church". Besides the Vatican, I would say none truly exist today. The Taliban could be considered (or was) one.
Democracy: Rule of the people. The only known True Democracies were the ancient Greek city-states. Everyone (well just the males; no one is perfect) had a vote in the city. The United States is a Republican Democracy; we vote for people to make decisions for us.
So Vote! and get morons out of important offices
