T-Mobile and Cingular both use GSM, if you did not get a good signal with T-Mobile don't expect much improvement with Cingular. T-Mobile also has a roaming agreement with Cingular, which means that if you did not get service, then more than likely neither will Cingular. Verizon is a great company for reception, but a little pricer. You get what you pay for applies here though. I had CIngular, and I would never get reception inside buildings, neither did T-Mobile. I now have Verizon and have still to see a spot with no signal. I would not recommend sprint at all, customer service is terrible (don't get me wrong it's great if you have no problems with them, but try getting a problem solved).

Sprint will most likely have the best reception. In large metropolitan areas, Sprint ususally has the strongest signal.

Verizon covers more area, but that also includes rural area where there aren't too many people. That could work for you though.

Cingular's claim to have the fewest dropped calls was proven false:

So you may want to take that into consideration as well.

In my opinion, T-Mobile is probably the worst cell carrier. I've heard nothing but less than spectacular things about them. Cingular as well, from personal experience of being with them for 2 weeks, I just had to switch back to Sprint.

But good luck and don't break your arms skiing, then you won't be able to use your cell phone anyway!

i would say Cingular. I have sprint and in my opinion they're not the best to have. i don't work for cingular, but i have stopped by a store or two in last few days and i discovered that they have the largest calling area in America. plus the bellsouth and at&t just merged with them so as for the both us we better hurry up and hope on that train if we get great phones with alwsome plans.

Probably Verizon.
But Verizon has the most terrible and rude customer service you cannot imagine.
I personally prefer OK reception with really nice customer service, which I believe is Cingular.
My sister has Sprint, and she seems to like it because she's had Sprint for many years, except I wouldn't get Sprint because it's free calling for most phone companies if you're calling someone with the same company, and since most people don't have Sprint, I don't really prefer Sprint.

There is only one company that advertises for reliability and that is Verizon.

My recommendation is goto each place website & see what there coverage is. Verizon gives the most dynamic reflecting actual coverage based upon zip code.

I always had coverage problems with Sprint. Always. I was never impressed with their customer service either.

No problems with Verizon so far.
