Depends on how I feel, if I'm feeling doomy, I prefer Black Sabbath and if I'm feeling like a hippie I prefer The Grateful Dead.

both are huge influences of current rock so its hard to say ones better than the other because they are different gernes of rock. but i'ld say the grateful dead is my choice over the two, they have made more of an impact on culture all over the world and can be recognized my both old and young as a still respected band, but that's not to say sabbath isn't cause i love them as well i just think that the dead have had a bit more influence.

HUGE!! fan of both. there genre is to different to compare. thats why the metal heads are gonna bash jerry and the hippies will bash ozzy. its a question you really cant rely on others answering for you.
the only way to find out is pick up an acoustic guitar and light a j.if that feels right grab a dead album. if you pick up a axe grab a 40 of jagermeister and ya dig that grab the sabbath. good luck in finding your answer.

And its two completely different genres or music
Both are awesome!
If I had to choose,tough choice but id choose GRATEful Dead
