We are repainting our crib (same thing as you got it from someone and it was pretty marked up). We just told the guy at the paint deptament that it was for a crib and he got the paint that is safe for babies.

Make sure the baby is out first. Then make sure you use paints that are non toxic and don't chip.

Ever heard the expression...... Did you eat paint chips when you were a kid?

Go to Home Depot. They will have answers for you there.

maybe not if you leave it outside for a few days to get the smell out and so it wont be harmfull for baby. but why do it if there is a chance of the baby to get sick. their imun system is very sensitive up to age 4-5 yrs.so think about it twice

When you are buying the pain, ask in the store for something safe for the baby. I know there are such one, I just can't remember the name.

it is safe as long as you paint it and then let it sit outside and air out for a day or so. as long as the paint is dry and there is no potent smell odor it is ok.
