Unless it is royalty or popes yes. With royalty or popes they interchange names and with such a title they do not want to be mistaken for another king or leader so the number in order of reign is given following their name. ie Pope John Paul the 2nd. The pope prior to him was not a john paul.

A Jr. is also a II, but a II is not necessarily a Jr. Jr. implies same name as father, II implies same name as some ancestor. Like this:

John's son is John Jr.

or

John's son is Steve; steve's son is John II.

or

John's son is John Jr.; John Jr.'s son is John III.

No. It means the son of a man by the same name. So, to differentiate, the son is called for example John smith Jr (junior).
The father would be John Smith Sr (Senior).

It does. SOme times a JR will grow up and change his name to II, but not always- When I was going to SUnday School, years ago, I met a man, who was a JR. He chose to go by P.J.

Well It means the same thing but its different because if you name some one junior the father will have to change his name to Sr. and with II the father would not put the first.

No, someone with the suffix of "Jr." is named after his father. Someone with the suffix of "II" is named after someone two or more generations behind, like a grandfather. If the son of the man with the suffix "II" is named after his father, he would still be "III" because there was no one with "Jr."

yes it does. Instead of saying ll at the end of a name you would say junior. Its only for boys though. If a third person is named the same as the second then you would say lll. Hope i helped

You can't really name him Jr. Would that be pronounced "Jerrr"?

What you're thinking of is naming him "J.R." or "Junior". Both of which are acceptable names, but for both of them, people would be asking them what the name stands for.
