A healthy couple without fertility issues can take a year or more to concieve a child. With a fertility issue like PCOS, it can take even longer and become even more complicated. Are you having regular menstrual cycles? Has your doctor helped you determine whether or not you're ovulating? Using ovulation predictor kits, or charting fertility signs (basal body temperature, cervical mucous, cervical position and texture) can tell you whether you're ovulating. If you're not ovulating, you may need additional drugs like clomid to help stimulate ovulation. There's new evidence that clomid may have a better chance at stimulating ovulation in women with PCOS than metformin, and that the two together may give the best chance at pregnancy for women with PCOS. You can learn more about charting your cycles from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility or from the website fertilityfriend.com. You may also be intereted in Soulcysters, the PCOS website.

Have faith and have patience. It may take quite a bit longer to become pregnant.
