its not the core. there is a movie just like the core but they get to the middle of the earth differently? whats it caleld

It is "The Core". If you watched both the movie and the South Park episode, it is clearly understandable. The most obvious tie in would be Chef. In the movie "The Core", the black scientist gave his life to save the ship. In the South Park episode, everyone in the ship made Chef go outside and sacrifice his own life to save the ship. The parody is quite clear.

If you're thinking Doug McClure and it's the 70's, you're thinking of "At The Earth's Core". A great Hammer film that does have a drilling maching very similar to the one in South Park.

It's a play on Armegeddon. They had to drill to the center of the crowd in order to break it apart, just like they did with the meteor in armageddon. there are many other signs pointing to Armageddon as well throughout the episode.
