I think that a very small number of stereotypes may be true for many members of a certain group, but I don't think any can be true for everyone because people are so different. There will always be at least one person who doesn't fit the stereotype.

stereotypes like most myths are based in truth but have become exaggerated over time and to me range from the insulting to the silly, folks who believe in them really need to get out more

there are lots of individuals who tend to conform to various stereotypes, but there are usually even more that defy that stereotype.
