BTW-obscenity, profanity, "fighting words", and words that advocate breaking the law are NOT protected under freedom of speech. I've noticed most of us Americans don't know this.

Well anyway, I was just wondering if there are any mature conservatives who actually denounce Coulter's remark when she, without provocation, insulted John Edwards.

Regarding this issue, these are the conservatives who should annoy any mature person.

I tend to lean towards the Republican view on things, but in no way does Ann Coulter represent the Republican party or ALL Republicans everywhere. She is just ONE person with ONE opinion. I honestly think very little of her to be honest. I think liberals and democrats give her WAY too much attention. Then again, John Edwards should be thanking her! Nobody seemed to even notice him until now! Best publicity he's had since he decided to run for office again!

She has a right to say what she said.

I don't know why she said it though.

I'm not really into the partisan back and forth, the horse race - I'm a finance guy who just wants sound economic policy and gets frustrated when politicians say things that show that they know little about the issues on which they'll legislate. This idea, for example, that a price floor for labor magically lifts millions of people's wages......

It always amuses me when liberals are the first to bleat about Hate speech or unacceptably inflammatory speech when same speech is uttered by some conservative talking head yet screech, bleat and shriek when someone calls them on their inflammatory remarks.

I mean, it's not like they want a double standard or anything, right?

Yeah, right.

Can you imagine the outcry if some con had talked at length about "wiggers" and "n*ggers"? Robert Byrd did.

Can you imagine the outcry if some con had referred to NY as "Hymietown"? Jesse Jackson did.

Yeah--no double standard here, uh-huh.

Ann Coulter is a media whore. I really think it's all an act - keeps her name in the media, and keeps us all talking about her.

And there are plenty of conservative who annoy me - but there are also a hell of a lot of annoying liberals out there, too.

Coulter is a fist class idiot who is terribly infatuated with herself. She has to be because there isn't a person in this entire world (except Hannity) who would ever want to take her out. Every time she is on TV I turn to another channel.

I denounce her words, but she has a right to say them. If pornography is legal, and I would contend it's legal and perfectly within an adult's rights, why would calling someone names be?

And Edwards hires bloggers for his campaign who write anti-Catholic rhetoric. C'mon, there's mud slinging on both sides.
