Do you think the only way to get stronger is by taking the road less traveled (hard, difficult path) or going the easier route and enjoying the process

Stronger means becoming the best at what ever you do and self growth.

The road less traveled tends to make you tough. You'll be able to weather the storms of adversity and survive.
Always taking the easy route, you tend to live in a house of cards.
And when the winds of adversity comes, it will blow your little house down and crush you like a beer can. The real world can get really tough at times. Best wishes

Actually, sometimes come-back from what appear to be the easier road, is much harder then following the right one from the beginning. And, I don`t think one cannot enjoy and appreciate difficulties:-).
A conclusion could be made I`m all for hard work, but not necessarily-one should learn how to enjoy life, and sometimes take a shortcut. The real wisdom is making difference between a shortcut and road to hell.

I think it depends on the person. But I think most of us need to go through hardships to become stronger to gain an understanding of things. There are those few who learn through observation.
