name of the gorilla was 'Gerald'

Names used for a group of mgorrilas were - "whoop" and "flange"

Mel Smith used the term "flange" and Rown Atkinson (in the gorilla suit) corrected him by saying the collective noun for Gorillas is a "whoop" as flange refers to Baboons

(the real collective noun is actualy a troop - but it isn't half as funny)

The gorrilla was called Gerald.

The interviewer (Mel Smith) asks him "so when you were taken out of the jungle you were completely wild ?"

The Gorrilla replies " Wild ? I was absolutely livid ! "

**Edit ** Actually I think confused is a more acurate quote than my own - I cant believe someone else even remembers this kind of stuff
