Do bench warrants ever go away? And if you move out of state will that matter?

2007-03-05 10:06:41 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous in Politics & Government Law & Ethics

I've tried contacting the courts over and over and they won't respond and set up a court date, does that make a difference?

Depends on what it is for. No moving out of state will not make it go away.
It would be best to face it and you will not have to dread and worry about what is coming from your rear.
Fear will make you a different person and prevent you from getting a good job. Do yourself a big big favor and face the warrant.
I was conducting an investigation once in the past in a liquor store robbery. I had a tip that the robbers had met at a certain trailer home back in the mountains. I Knew that a young couple with a child lived in the trailer.
I went to the trailer to talk to these two young kids, if you will,
The girl said yes they had witnessed these robbers counting up the monies from the robbery, however she or her husband could not testify as he was wanted in Louisiana for breaking and entering. I spoke to this young man and he told me his story. His father had kicked him out during the winter and to stay warm he broke into this home. He didn't steal anything but was charged with burglary. He ran.
He and She had met later and married. He was cleaning horse stables to hide from the police.
I got all the info, called the Baton Rouge Police department and worked out a deal for the young man. The BR police said the warrant was still in effect however they didn't want him bad enough to extradite him. I got the charges dropped. The young man and his wife are now free. Twenty years later, he is an upstanding citizen and has never been in trouble since.
Hope this helps.
