I can not stress this enough! Every time I answer a question like this I include the same things. Practice shooting from mid-range first, and develop a quick release. If you develop a quick release, it will be harder to block. Also develop a step back shot ( take a dribble forward and jump backwards off of one foot land on two and shoot). If your short and not muscular incorporate your arms into the shot. If you have enough muscle, use your legs. As for shooting form. Square up to the basket, bend your knees, jump up, keep your elbow in, push the ball and flick your wirst. Pretend to wave "goodbye" the the basket. Let the ball roll off of all your middle, ring and index finger. If you want, beef up your legs and arms for added range. All you need is practice to be honest. Practice going off glass and running around screens.

Well once you've got your ball handling skills down, then you can work on your shooting. Get a form that works for you, and build up your arm and leg muscles. You have to get the shot up fast, and still get a good look at the basket. If you can shoot fast and accurately off the dribble then you'll be set.

Repitition. 50 shots each from 5 points around the arch. That will build muscle memory and confidence.

well first of all if you're fast, you can work around that issue

if you are not, then build up muscle by doing pull-ups
